Sussex County children's chorus performs in Greece

The Children's Chorus of Sussex County, under the direction of Music Director Deborah mello, was one of the American choirs to appear at the Festival of the Aegan, which runs through Friday in Syros, Greece.

The festival presents operatic works and choral masterpieces with major participation by U.S. choirs. Members of U.S. choirs from Nebraska and New Jersey helped kick off the Festival on July 12, with a performance of Cherubini’s Medea, conducted by Peter Tiboris. Medea also was performed on July 14, 16, and 18.

On Monday, July 13, William Wyman conducted the U.S. choirs in Fauré’s Requiem in D minor, Op. 48. The American choirs also performed in a Sunset Concert of a cappella sacred music at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on July 17.
