Sussex Borough man arrested on drug charges

VERNON — Township police arrested Christopher Jimenez, 22, of Sussex, on Thursday, July 2, for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. While patrolling Lake Panorama near the beach area, Cpl. Derrick Scudieri investigated a suspicious vehicle that led to the arrest of Jimenez. Jimenez was taken to headquarters where he was processed and released.

In other police news, on June 23, Vernon police arrested Joseph Meister, 49, on an outstanding $1,000 warrant out of Vernon Township. Police stopped a vehicle on County Route 515 after a DMV check revealed that the driver, William Altamura, was operating his vehicle after his registration had been suspended. The passenger of the vehicle, Joseph Meister, was found to have an active warrant out of Vernon Township, according to police.

Altamura was issued a summons for driving with a suspended registration.

Meister was taken to the police station where he was unable to post bail. He was then lodged in the Sussex County jail.
