Laddey, Clark & Ryan LLP in Sparta, participated in their Annual Spring Fitness Challenge. The challenge ended in a kickball game hosted by the Sussex County YMCA in Hardyston on June 17.

“Laddey, Clark & Ryan understands that health and wellness in the workplace will have a positive effect on employees,“ states Partner Todd Hooker. He continues, “We are excited to team up with the YMCA because we share their mission of promoting health and wellness within our community and workplace.”

The entire LCR office split into two teams, Team Green led by Hooker and Administrative Assistant Erika Tintle and Team Gold led by Partner Bill Askin and Clerical Assistant Kateri Lowenstein.

Members of each team committed to participating in a number of fitness and wellness activities including group hikes, 5K races, bike rides, walks and healthy recipe challenges during the eight-week challenge. Points were awarded for participation.

In addition to the various team challenges, LCR teamed up with area personal trainers including Nicole Chiong of N Power PT, Donna Villavicencio of Fit by D, and Jason Schlaffer of Exervolve to challenge themselves to try new activities in an effort to stay fit.

Each team “threw down the gauntlet” and challenged the other team to activities like volleyball, tennis and ultimately the YMCA kickball game.

“The YMCA focuses on healthy living and we are looking forward to hosting the LCR wellness event,” said Jennifer Gardner, executive director of the Sussex County YMCA. “We believe that a strong community can only be achieved when we invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors.
