Boating safety course planned in Hopatcong

HOPATCONG — The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 15-10, on Lake Hopatcong, will conduct an “About Boating Safely” on Monday and Tuesday, July 6 and 7 from 6-10 pm.

Taught by all volunteer U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary certified instructors licensed by the State of N.J., this course covers all the subjects to satisfy the requirements for the mandatory N.J. Boating Safety Certificate needed by all powerboat operators in New Jersey. The class will take place at the Hopatcong Senior Center, 32 Lakeside Blvd., Hopatcong, NJ 07843.

The fee for the course is $65, and will help to support the volunteer Coast Guard Auxiliary continue promoting recreational boating safety on and around Lake Hopatcong.
