The Rev. Brown School Chess Team won second place in the Northwest N.J. Scholastic Team Tournament on Monday, June 1, at Lake Mohawk Country Club.

Fifthy teams participated.
Jersey Chess instructor Marty Sobin has taught chess at Reverend Brown for four years and said he is proud of his Reverend Brown team, which includes, Wes Taylor, Christian Marlin, Daniel Devine, and Ethan Lilley.

Sobin's goal is not just to teach children how to play chess, but to instill in them a love for the game, so they will play often, improve their game, and hopefully, for some, play competitively at tournaments.
