For the second year in a row, legendary Action Park will join tens of thousands of kids and families around the globe to help set a new record for the World’s Largest Swim Lesson on Thursday, June 18.

Individuals of all ages are invited to help break the Guinness World Record and attend the free half-hour lesson beginning at 10 a.m. on June 18. Since its inaugural event in 2010, over 120,000 people have participated and learned the vital importance of water safety through the World’s Largest Swim Lesson initiative. According to the event’s website, drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related deaths among children ages 1-14.

During the event, lifeguards and certified swim instructors will teach the basics of proper swimming techniques in Action Park’s wave pool. All participants will receive a complimentary ticket to Action Park that can be used on a future date of their choice for the 2015 season.

“This event is a great opportunity to spread the word about water safety and ensure our guests have a memorable summer season with us at Action Park,” said Tim Stone, aquatics director at Action Park.

The water park will open on weekends beginning Saturday, June 13 and will switch to daily operations on June 24, when most local schools let out for the summer. Action Park will open the wave pool exclusively for this event.
