Guilty plea in Vernon shooting

    A Highland Lakes man pleaded guilty on Thursday to shooting a man to death in Vernon in 2012.

    Ryczard Gorski, 46, admitted to the shooting in Sussex County Court in front of Judge Thomas Critchley, according to the county prosecutor's office.

    Gorski pleaded guilty to first degree aggravated manslaughter for the killing of Marek Lacki on January 7, 2012 in Vernon.

    Gorski admitted to shooting the victim in the head and causing his death recklessly under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, according to the county prosecutor's office.

    Gorski is expected to be sentenced on July 23.
