    May 22Richard Weekes, 58, of Franklin was sentenced to three years of probation, two years loss of driving privileges and mandatory fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on April 2 to eluding, a third-degree crime.

    He admitted that while operating his motor vehicle in the town of Sparta, he eluded the police after receiving a signal from the officer to stop the vehicle.

    William O'Neill, 40, of Newton was sentenced to one year of non-custodial probation and total fines and penalties of $655.

    He pleaded guilty on May 22, 2015, to one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a fourth-degree crime.

    Talia Phalon, 32, of Sussex Borough was setenced to two years of probation on condition that she obtain a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, undergo random urine monitoring and pay $2,330 in mandated fines and fees, and credit for time served of 84 days.

    She pleaded guilty on April 27 to two counts third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

    During a motor vehicle stop by Vernon police, it was discovered Phalon had a warrant for her arrest and was taken into custody. During the search, the defendant was found to be in possession of Amphetamine, Oxycodone and Dexoamphetamine.

    Roger Edwards, 27, of Andover was sentenced to two years of non-custodial probation with credit for time served, anger management, TASC evaluation and follow recommendations, mental health evaluation and follow recommendations, forfeiture of all weapons, and no contact with the victims and total fines and penalties of $280.

    He pleaded guilty on May 22 to one count of terroristic threats, a third-degree crime and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon, a fourth-degree crime.

    Greg Schrumpf, 59, of Oakland was sentenced to five years of probation concurrent with Drug Court probation in Bergen County. He must comply with all Bergen County Drug Court Probation conditions, pay $500 restitution to the victim and $155 in court fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on March 16 to fourth-degree Shoplifting.

    In May of 2014, the defendant entered Golden Castle Jewelers in Sparta asking to look at heavy gold chains. When the employee was not looking, Schrumpf grasped a chain and put it in his pocket and left the store without paying for it.

    May 26Robert A. Gannon, 34, of Hopatcong pleaded guilty to third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance and the motor vehicle offenses of driving while intoxicate and driving while intoxicated with a minor passenger.

    Sentencing is scheduled for July 17.

    After being pulled over for a motor vehicle violation in Hopatcong on April 2, Gannon was found to be driving under the influence of controlled substances and alcohol, and in possession of sublinqual Suboxone film. The matter was investigated by Patrolmen J. Bianculli of the Hopatcong Borough Police Department.

    May 29Marion Ingala, 22, of Sparta was sentenced to five years of probation, was ordered to serve 30 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations made. She must pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at her expense.

    She pleaded guilty on March 30, 2015, to fourth degree Title 9 Cruelty and Neglect of Children. In pleading guilty, Ingala admitted to inhaling toxic chemicals in front of her child in Byram on Dec. 10, 2014. The matter was investigated by Patrolman Dellicker of the Byram Township Police Department.

    Jennifer VanHouten, 34, of Hamburg was sentenced to 12 months of probation, 10 days of community services, continue aftercare drug treatment and mandatory court fines.

    She pleaded guilty on March 30 to the fourth-degree crime of shoplifting and to the disorderly persons offenses of theft and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance.

    Jeffrey Hanley, 22, of Sussex Borough was sentenced to two years of probation, $1,205 in court fines and a six-month loss of his driver's license.

    He pleaded guilty on March 30 to the third-degree crime of criminal attempt to possess with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance.

    He admitted to having a package delivered to a residence, which was not his, in Vemon on Dec. 27, 2014, that contained marijuana. The matter was investigated by Vernon Police Office Gentile.
