Flash flood warning

    The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood advisory for northeastern Sussex County through 9:45 p.m. Monday night.

    Thunderstorms are expected to produce heavy storms over the area, with more than two inches of rain falling in some parts of the county, according to the National Weather Service.

    Between one to two inches of additional rain is expected to fall.

    Flash flooding is considered likely in places that receive the most rain, according to the National Weather Service.

    The Sussex County towns and boroughs that could experience flooding include Franklin, Hamburg, Highland Lake, High Point, Milford, Ogdensburg, Sussex and Vernon Valley.

    Recommended actions include moving to higher ground.
