Fine music draws large enthusiastic crowd to Vernon flats

VERNON — As the second and last evening of the series, last Wednesday evening music lovers had the chance to enjoy the big band jazz music performances of two orchestral ensembles during the annual Jazz in the Flats concert series.

This June 10 concert started with the High Point Jazz Ensemble under the direction of James Aslanian and the Vernon Township High School Jazz Express under the direction of Max Taylor.

Earlier in the day, the Jazz Express performed at three of Vernon’s six schools. Taylor is now in his second year in Vernon and Aslanian is in his third year with High Point Regional High School.
