Skylands Gallery plans exhibit, reception

The artists of Skylands Gallery and Studio will have their next exhibit and reception on Saturday, June 13, from 5:30-9:30 p.m.

This exhibit and reception will be the first to be held in the organization's enlarged gallery. Skylands Gallery has expanded into an additional adjacent space giving members almost 50 percennt more exhibiting area.

Skylands artists: Phylis Barfoot, Carol Chave, Rima Hamade, Lisa Lopez, James-Jaie Maione, John Maione, Jr., Qaasim Munoz, Janet O'Neil, June Ponte, Liza Smith-Simpson, Diane Suter, Stephen Vecchiotti, Bruce Young and Justin Zimmer will be exhibit additional works in its new space. This new gallery space will allow the artist co-op to grow to more than 20 members. It is the group's goal to first become a statewide and then a regional attraction for art lovers.

Dozens of new works are being created for this show and about 200 will be on exhibit. This month the live music will be by John Desibia, Jeanie Cassels and Strings Attached.

This month, there will be the regular wide variety of wines but an extra emphasis on the famous ciders from Warwick Valley Winery.

The winner of the monthly competition for June is Jonathan Galvis for one of his ink drawings.

Now 10 percent of all sales from the evening of of June 13 will benefit the Delaware Raptor Center in Milford, Pa. The center suffered from a devastating fire this past winter.
