WANTAGE — A representative from Jersey Central Power & Light informed the Wantage Committee of a neww transmission line that will provide stability, redundancy and the potential for future demand to the existing power grid.

The new 230kV transmission line would go along existing lines for seven miles from the Montville Substation to the Whippany Substation in East Hanover, Morris County. JCP&L filed a petition on March 27 to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU). A decision is anticipated from the BPU within one year of filing.
