WANTAGE — The Land Conservancy's Partners for Parks program held a project recently at the Avian Wildlife Center, located in Wantage.

Fourteen volunteers spent the day helping to beautify the grounds at the center, including the dismantling of a large old bird cage and spreading 3 cubic yards of gravel where the new cage will be located.

The volunteers also primed and painted 10 boards for the walls of the new cage.

"We could never have gotten all this work accomplished so quickly without the support of the Land Conservancy's Partners for Parks program and the employees from Selective insurance," said Giselle Smisko of Avian Life.
