Sun shines on National Day of Prayer

VERNON — Under a deep blue sky, the 64th Annual Observance of the National Day of Prayer was held last Thursday in front of the Vernon Municipal Center.
Although no government leaders attended the event this year, nearly three dozen people took turns praying for governments and institutions ranging from our federal leaders and troops at war to Vernon Township’s own governmental leaders.
Special prayers also were offered for emergency response personnel.
Local clergy attending were Pastor Nik Fontana of the Faith With Love Fellowship at the McAfee Bible Church and Monsignor Robert Carroll of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Highland Lakes.
