Vernon school distirct plans spring concerts

    Glen Meadow Middle School will present its spring concert on Wednesday, May 27, at 7 p.m. at the Vernon Township High School.

    Featured performing groups will be the seventh- and eighth-grade bands, Jazz Band, and Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Ryan Sweer, and Glen Meadow Voices, under the direction of Eileen Pavlik. All students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

    Donations on the evening of May 27 will be presented to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that assists and attends to the needs of injured service members.

    Glen Meadow Voices is performing a special music piece to honor all veterans from every branch of the Armed Forces. Carnations will be given to the first 75 veterans in attendance, courtesy of Highland Flowers.

    Strings Concert
    On Thursday, May 28, the Vernon Township Strings Program will present its first String Symposium Concert at 7 p.m. in the Vernon Township High School Auditorium.

    Featured performing groups will be the Fourth-Grade Orchestra, Lounsberry Hollow Orchestra, and the Glen Meadow Orchestra, under the direction of Rachel Whitty, and the Vernon Township High School Orchestra, under the direction of Jennifer Krott. All students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

    Donations on the evening of May 28 will support the Vernon Strings Program. There is a suggested donation of $5 for adults and $3 for students/senior citizens.
