Fishing derby planned in Augusta

    The Sussex County Federation of Sportsman’s Clubs will host its annual Children’s Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. until noon.

    The rain date will be Sunday, May 17.

    Children 15 years of age or younger are welcome to enter the derby. Derby participants should provide their own fishing tackle. The federation will provide worms.

    Prizes will be awarded. Children 15 years of age and younger do not require a fishing license.

    This year, it is again requested that participants bring a can of food for the NORWESCAP food program. Additionally, this year, any monetary donations would also be appreciated.

    The normal state fishing regulations will be observed. The derby will be held at the pond within the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show grounds.
