The Friends of High Point State Park will sponsor its third annual Teddy Bear Picnic on Saturday, May 16, from 1-3 p.m. in the High Point State Park Interpretive Center.

Families with children ages two through ten, and their favorite teddy bears or plush animal friends, are cordially invited to come out of hibernation for a bear-y fun afternoon.

The Friends of High Point State Park will celebrate spring and explore the natural history of the North American Black Bear. Activities will include a bear discovery station, crafts, story corner, and more. High Point State Park's resident big teddy bear will be sitting for portraits. New for 2015, bring your own picnic lunch or snack.

Registration is required for this program and must be received by Monday, May 11. Seating is limited. The event is free, but donations of $5 or more per family are appreciated. To register, please email friendshpsp@gmail.com.
