The car wash was a fundraiser for the Red Bird Mission Team, which is going to Beverly, Ky. in July. This will be the third year the church’s Red Bird team is going and will be part of a group of 10 churches from the tri-state area. While there, they will repair and renovate homes to make them safe, more comfortable, and long lasting for their owners.

“The Red Bird Mission is part of the United Methodist Church and provides a witness for Christ in the heart of Appalachia by providing food, clothing, transportation, and health care assistance year round," team leader Sam Perez said.

The mission of the church’s clothing ministry is to provide gently used clothing to people in need. There is no charge for the clothing. People may take what they need. The clothing ministry is open Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
