Healthy kids are an achievable goal

About 600 hoping-to-be-healthy kids and their parents came out for the Sussex County YMCA’s Annual Healthy Kids Day on Saturday.

Sponsored by Eastern Propane, the five-hour event was designed to be a fun-filled free event meant to inspire families to stay active physically and mentally over the summer months.

A family swim period was also available to help forget about the now-distancing winter months.

The afternoon included giving kids the chance to test their fitness prowess in a boot camp-style obstacle course with tires, tunnels, balance beams, a crawling area, and a slanted climbing wall.

There was also a lot to do behind and to the side of the Y building with bubble machines and an out-of-this-world playground. Archery lessons were also available in the upper field.
