    April 9John J. McKevitt, 26, of Hopatcong was indicted on charges of aggravated assault with the purpose to terrorize, a third-degree crime.

    The case was investigated by Detective Ryan Tracey of the Hopatcong Police Department.

    The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Assistant Prosecutor Laura L. Nazzaro. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next several weeks.

    April 10Ryan Fitzpatrick, 34, of Highland Lakes was sentenced to 5 1/2 years in state prison.

    He pleaded guilty on March 2 to driving while intoxicated, five counts of assault by auto, a fourth-degree crime and a violation of probation for a third-degree crime. As a result of the defendant’s guilty plea, he was terminated from drug court probation and sentenced to 4 years New Jersey state prison.

    On March 8, 2014, in the borough of Franklin, the defendant admitted he was driving an automobile while under the influence of alcohol and caused a head-on motor vehicle crash that injured five individuals. The defendant was sentenced to a consecutive 18 month New Jersey State Prison term.

    April 17Robert W. McLaren, 29, of Montague was sentenced to 2 years of probation and was given credit for 100 days served in the Keogh-Dwyer correctional Facility. He was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations made and pay joint and several restitution in the amount of $1,720.

    He must pay total fines and penalties of $280 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.

    He pleaded guilty on March 16 to two counts of burglary, both crimes of the third degree. In pleading guilty, McLaren admitted to entering a residence in Montague on two separate occasions in December 2014 and taking merchandise from the home. The matter was investigated by Trooper R. Carrasco of the New Jersey State Police.

    Pamela S. Harriott, 27, of Vernon was sentenced to 2 years of probation and was given credit for 129 days time served in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility. She was ordered to submit to mental health and substance abuse evaluations and follow all recommendations made. She must pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at her expense.

    She pleaded guilty on March 13 to throwing bodily fluids, a crime of the fourth degree. In pleading guilty, Harriott admitted to spitting at and kicking officers from the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility on Nov. 4, 2012, while housed at the facility.

    The matter was investigated by Officer M. Caine of the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department.

    Joseph A. Colon, 23, of Newton was sentenced to 3 years of probation, 109 days credit for time served, a substance-abuse evaluation and treatment and $1,205 in court fines.

    He pleaded guilty on March 3 to the third-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to selling heroin in Nnewton on June 19, 2014, to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Taks Force.

    Jason Rinker, 39, of Vernon was sentenced to 2 years of probation and $955 in court fines.

    He pleaded guilty on Feb. 9 to the third-degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to to possesing more than 50 grams of marijuana in Vernon Township on Aug. 13, 2014.

    The matter was investigated by Vernon Police Officer R. Koumaras.

    April 20Zachary J. Tabor, 25, of Andover pleaded guilty to distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and forgery, all crimes of the third degree.

    Sentencing is scheduled for June 19.

    In pleading guilty, Tabor admitted to selling heroin to a person cooperating with the Sussex County Narcotics Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Unit on April 10, 2013, in Andover Township. He further admitted to cashing a check he knew to be forged on July 31, 2014, in Netcong. During the course of that investigation he was found to be in possession of a small amount of Heroin.

    The matter was investigated by Patrolman Montella of the Stanhope Police Department.
