VERNON — More than 100 new photographs will be featured April 18 and 19 at the Vernon Township Historical Society’s Second Annual Photography Exhibit entitled "All About Vernon," sponsored by the Society, the Vernon Township High School Photography Department and their teacher Terry Sabia, and AIM newspaper photographer and high school photography teacher Dennis Dalelio of Highland Lakes.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.

The photographs, submitted for exhibit by the high school students and by local amateur and professional photographers, have a variety of subject matter and various mediums, including chemical film and hand-printed photographs, digital photographs, hand-colored photographs, and more. All of the photographs have a common theme: they are all about Vernon Township people, places, and things, celebrating the community.

An independent professional photographer will judge the exhibits, and ribbons will be awarded to the photographers who receive distinctions for “Best in Show” and “Honorable Mention” categories. The student division will be judged separately from the adult division.

The exhibit will be held at the Vernon Township Senior Citizens’ Center at 21 Church Street on April 18 from 5-9 p.m. and on April 19 from 1-5 p.m. In addition to the many wonderful photographs on exhibit, the Vernon Township High School Chamber Orchestra and their teacher, Jennifer Krott, will entertain guests from 3-4 p.m. on Sunday, April 19.

There also will be free refreshments on both days. Many of the photographs will be on sale.

Many of the photographers donated some of their photographs to the society, so this will be a fundraising event to help defray costs of the society’s many free programs for all ages,
