For the first time in team's history, three Sussex County YMCA swimmers qualified for YMCA Nationals.

Emily Haudek, Emily Rothamel, and Samantha Russell joined swimmers from 92 teams from around the country at the YMCA Short Course Nationals on March 31 through April 4 in Greensboro, N.C.

Emily Haudek returned to Nationals for her third consecutive year and competed in the 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard butterfly, and 100-yard freestyle. Hauche achieved best times in both her 100 and 200 butterfly events, improving on her place seedings in both events.

Both Rothamel and Russell were competed for the first time at this meet. Rothamel swam the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, and the 200 freestyle (time trial); and Russell swam the 50 freestyle, 100 breast (time trial) and the 100 Freestyle (time trial).

Samantha Russell, at 14, was the youngest swimmer from the Sussex County YMCA swim team to ever qualify for Y Nationals.
