Cedar Mountain hosts Expert Fair

Last month, third-grade students at Cedar Mountain Primary School welcomed their parents into the school library for an “Expert Fair,” to both inform and share their knowledge on various research topics.

By implementing Writing Workshop techniques learned in the classroom, and by putting their research skills hard to work, the students discovered the value and power gained from knowledge — that which allowed for each student’s transition from learner to “expert” in their researched field.

Parents stood impressed as student “experts” showcased their published works on Google Docs, an online document sharing platform; integrating academia and technology, together.

With confident grins and enlightened minds, the third-graders proudly shared their learnings with the crowd – happy to be able to teach their elders a thing or two.
