Sussex Borough will have a new mayor at the start of 2016 as former councilwoman Marina Krynicky is the sole candidate seeking the Republican nomination for the office.

Krynicky is seeking a four-year term ending Dec. 31, 2010

Mayor Jonathan Rose did not file a petition for re-election as he is seeking a seat on the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

No Democratic candidate filed a petition for mayor.

There are two three-year Common Council terms on the ballot and four Republican candidates vying for two spots. Incumbents Annette Stendor and Linda Masson will stave off challenges from Mario Poggi, who is filling an unexpired term until the general election, and Edward J. Meyer. Also two Republicans — Charles H. Fronheiser, Jr., and Frank Dykstra — are seeking the nomination to fill an unexpired term from November 2015 through the Dec. 31, 2016.

No Democratic petitions have been filed.
