    Shirley A. King, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at her home while surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lowell and raised in Tewksbury, Massachusetts to the late Arthur and Beatrice (Cluff) Wells, she had lived in Massachusetts and then Milford, Pa., before moving to Wantage 47 years ago. Mrs. King graduated as a Registered Nurse (RN) from Lowell General Hospital in 1955. She attended Providence-Barrington Bible College in 1956, where she met her late husband, Larry. She married in 1961 in Moorestown, New Jersey, while working in Philadelphia. Shirley served alongside her husband's ministry at Milford Bible Church in Milford, Pa., and St. Paul's Bible Church in Pine Island, New York. In 1967, they settled in Wantage Township. Shirley was a loving mother, raising her three children and worked as an RN at Wallkill Valley Hospital in Sussex as a pediatric nurse. She also worked as a substitute school nurse in the local schools, and worked with preschool handicap as well. She was a gifted seamstress and upholsterer, had entrepreneurial spirit with various home businesses, and raised Shelties, her "fur kids" for many years. She had been a former member of the Lafayette Federated Church as well as the Milford Bible Church. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Lawrence E. King, on April 25, 2013. Mrs. King is survived by her two sons, David King, and his wife, Brittany, of Wantage and Daniel King and his wife, Debbie, of Wantage; his daughter, Debbie Yakaboski and her husband, James, of Shohola, Pa.; her sister, Barbara Karner and her husband, Charles, of Tewksbury, Mass.; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Lafayette Federated Church, 180 State Route 15, Lafayette, NJ 07848. Friends may pay their respects to the family one hour prior to the memorial service on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
