    John P. Sauvé, 72, of Vernon, peacefully died April 3 at Newton Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Mineola, N.Y., he was raised in Bergen County before moving to Vernon in 1970. He was employed at New Jersey Bell, later Verizon, as assistant manager, Subway Division and retired in 1994. He then worked at Kuiken Brothers, Sussex, for several years.

    He was the son of the late Raymond and Marie Sauvé. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Barbara, son, Paul of Montague, and daughter, Leanne, and husband Carl, brother, Raymond and several nieces and nephews.

    The Sauvé family will gather at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt.94 (use 1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, N.J., on Tuesday April 7, at 10 a.m. for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial service at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church. Burial will be private.
