United Water won the auction of Vernon Township's unused water lines with a winning bid of $151,000.

The bid was the minimum allowed under the terms of the auction. United Water was the only bidder. The pipes run along Route 94 and Church Street.

Only Councilman Dan Kadish casting the only vote to reject it.

A public hearing and council vote was held at the regular council meeting on March 9. The ordinance was passed with Kadish casting the only dissenting vote.

The $151,000 total was determined to be the cost incurred by the township in the construction of the lines.
