Legislation renaming a 10-mile section of Rt. 15 in Sussex County in memory of the late state Sen. Robert E. Littell received unanimous approval from the Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee on Thursday.

Assemblymen Parker Space, Michael Patrick Carroll, Scott Rumana and Anthony M. Bucco are sponsors of the bill (A-4042).

“Senator Littell was dedicated not only to the constituents he represented, but all of New Jersey,” said Space, R-Sussex, Warren and Morris. “His commitment to public service is an example to everyone that you can make a difference. Sen. Littell loved his family and this great state. We can never truly thank him for his many contributions to New Jersey, but seeing his name on Route 15 will always remind us of someone who cared deeply about helping people.”

Littell diedlast November, and his daughter, Assemblywoman Alison Littell McHose, has represented the same district as her father for the last 12 years. At the beginning of the year, she was named Business Administrator in Franklin at the beginning of the year.
