    March 3Dennis Gleason, 57, of Franklin was charged with second-degree eluding arrest, reckless driving, failure to stop for an emergency vehicle, driving while intoxicated, speeding and failure to maintain lane.

    Police said they encountered a red Ford Mustang driving in a manner likely to cause harm to the public, in the area of County Highway 517. Police said a pursuit was initiated in which the Mustang was swerving in traffic and often driving in the opposite lane of travel at a high rate of speed. According to police, the pursuit lasted for several miles and at one point had ended when the driver of the Mustang, hid from police in the rear parking lot of the A&P, with the engine and lights off. Police said The pursuit then continued North on Route 94. Warwick police were contacted and they provided assistance at the state border.

    Gleason was sent to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

    March 6Thomas Cifelli, 28, of Highland Lakes was charged on an outstanding warrant from Hardyston Township. He also was charged with distributing heroin to an incarcerated inmat at East Jersey State Prison and conspiracy to introduce heroin into a state correctional facility.

    He was turned over to members of the East Jersey State Prison.

    Andrew J. Osborne, 19, of Bloomingburg, N.Y., was charged with possession of marijuana and having drug paraphernalia after Vernon police responded to a report of an erratic driver that nearly struck a Warwick, N.Y., police officer.

    Police said Osborne was taken into custody after a motor vehicle stop near Vernon Crossings Road.

    Shane Clancy, 21, of Oak Ridge was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI refusal, reckless driving, speeding, driving without a license, improper passing and failure to maintain lane after police responded to a report on Route 94 South of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

    Police said the driver accelerated at dangerously high speeds and crashed into an embankment. Police said during his arrest, Clancy allegedly gave a false name to hide that he had an outstanding warrant out of Vernon for $1,000, and that he did not have a driver's license.

    Police said a 17-year-old female passenger was charged after she allegedly interfered with Clancy's arest and assualted one of the offers and then resisted arrest. Clancy was sent to Sussex County Jail in lieu of bail and the 17-year-old female was released to her mother.

    March 10Emily Vichiconti, 18, and Christopher Wayne, 18, were charged with witness tampering, a third-degree crime.

    Police said they received a harassment complaint stemming from a previous narcotics arrest and allege the complainants had initiated and instigated the communication.

    Vichiconti and Wayne were released pending a court appearance in Sussex County Superior Court.

    Scott Verhage, 24, was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft and two counts of identity theft.

    Police said Scott made online purchases with credit cards stolen during a spree of residential burglaries in February 2014.

    Police said the investigation included information supplied by vendors to identify the offender.

    Verhage was sent to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.

    March 12Richard S. Gray, 45, of Stockholm was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit toa breath test after township police responded to a report of a red Ford Mustang driving erratically on County Highway 515.

    Police said the vehicle was located near the Mountain Creek campground entrance and a subsequent stop led to Gray's arrest.

    March 14Heather Wetzel, 46, of Hamburg was charged with driving while intoxciated and carless driving after police received reports that a black Volkswagen was driving erratically.

    Police said the vehicle was located in Glenwood on County Highway 517.

    Wetzel was transported to police headquarters, where she was released pending an appearance in Vernon Municipal Court.

    Timothy Branagan, 28, of Vernon was charged with driving while intoxicated after police responded to a call of an erratic driver nearly struck a guardrail after allegedly swerving into the opposite lane of traffic.

    Police said the vehicle was located at the Lukoil gas station on Route 94. After a brief investigation, police said Branagan was under the influence of alcohol and was allegedly unable to pass standard field sobriety tests.

    He was released pending a date in Vernon Municipal Court.

    Geoffrey F. Clark, 28, of Vernon was charged on several warrants after a motor vehicle stop.

    Police said a Silver Acura was pulled over alleging lamps in need of maintenance. Police said further investigation revealed Clark had two outstanding wrrrants, one out of Randolph totalling $200 and another out of Roxbury, totalling $300.

    Clark was taken into custoday and posted bail for the Randolph Warrant and on his own recognizance for the Roxburry warrant. He has a future court date in Roxbury Township Court.
