Locals invited to YMCA's Open House

| 12 Mar 2015 | 01:00

Families are invited to an open house 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 15, to learn about the Sussex County YMCA’s Blue Mountain Day Camp, which provides children the feel of a sleep-away summer camp experience.

Blue Mountain campers gather each morning on the shores of Fairview Lake before embarking on days of play and learning through a range of activities including swimming, fishing, archery, sports, arts and crafts, hiking and sailing. Horseback riding is offered during certain sessions for children in grades 4 and up.

Children as young as 3 participate in age-appropriate experiences that build their self-esteem and social skills, and increase their independence and awareness about health and wellness.

Free transportation to the camp, which is accredited by the American Camp Association, is provided from locations throughout Sussex County. Visit sussexcountyymca.org or call 973-209-9622 for more information. The Sussex County YMCA is celebrating its 10th anniversary throughout 2015.
