Walnut Ridge students honor Wantage artist

For the last six months, Wantage-based illustrator and artist Art Frisbie has been spending one day each week painting the halls of Walnut Ridge Primary School.

Last Friday, the school’s students made a point of rewarding Frisbie for his efforts.

Much to his surprise, Frisbie began to realize something was going on as what appeared to be hundreds of students came into the school’s all-purpose room and took their seats in front of a huge projection screen. Soon the screen was showing a time-lapsed video presentation of the artist as he labored in the halls of the school.

Created by school librarian Ben Joseph, the video began to play class after class calling out to the camera, “Thank you Mr. Frisbie. Thank you Mr. Frisbie.”

The culmination of the presentation was the student body singing the “Keep on Reading” song.

According to Frisbie, he has two more paintings to complete before the project is completed.
