Vernon student thespians shine at states

    Emily Moreno won Best Actress at the prestigious STANJ competition this month at Rutgers University.

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School once again garnered awards in the state thespian championships held at Rutgers University.

Emily Moreno won best actress for the day.

Other students that made it to finals included: Comedic Pair, Brooke Harrsch with Jackie Cerutti and Dominick Gonzalez with Cassie Roeloffs; third place in Scene,

Emily Moreno, Dominick Gonzalez, Cassie Roeloffs; fifth place in scene, Brooke Harrsch, Roger Hernandez, Jackie Cerutti; fifth place in Improv Pair, Allison Malatesta and Tom LaPenter; and sixth place in Comedic Monologue, Dominick Gonzalez.

The group was led by new drama teacher Lindsay McAloney. Other students who also participated were: Madison Alnemy, Janis Beltran, Racquel Cordero, Kayla D'Angelo, Leila Gonzalez, Brooke Graniere, Ethan Kimball, Julia Kotkin, Blair Lanza, Steven Lohwin, Ethan Metz, Brian Pitts, Shannon Rogers, Emily Ross, Skylar Salamone and Trinity Sorber.
