Rita Albanese

Rita Albanese, 91, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at her home in the Highland Lakes section of Vernon. Mrs. Albanese, daughter of the late Frank and Lucy (DiNapoli) Di Giacomo was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 7, 1923. She has been a resident of Highland Lakes for the past 10 years.

Mrs. Albanese was predeceased by her husband, Antonio Albanese, in 2003. She is survived by her children, Frank Albanese of Port Monmouth, Lorraine Koehler of Highland Lakes and Anthony Albanese of New Milford; grandchildren, Lisa Greenberg, Frank Albanese, Christopher Albanese, Matthew Albanese, Scott Koehler and Michelle Van Strander; great-grandchildren, Noah and Noelle Van Strander, Alyssa and Sierra Koehler, Brittany Croce, Devin and Emily Greenberg, Logan and Taygen Albanese and Nico Albanese as well as one great-great-grandchild, Hayden Brown.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at 9:15 a.m. from Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94 (1 Vanderhoof Ct. for GPS) Vernon to Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Highland Lakes for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly.
