WARWICK, N.Y. — Local residents Kathie Austin from Kathie Austin Photography and Tom Mattingly from Matting Leah Publishing Company recently released a two-year creative collaboration, Seasons of Hope 2016 Calendar, featuring inspiring local breast cancer survivors and their legacies.

“The goals for Seasons of Hope include creating awareness of breast cancer, fostering prevention, and inspiring hope for people who are fresh to or fresh from the battle with breast cancer,” Austin said. “We’re going to accomplish that with this publication.”

Austin created 12 visual portraits of Hudson Valley area breast cancer survivors, while her partner and owner of Matting Leah Publishing Company, Tom Mattingly, using the pseudonym Matthew S. Field, penned the biographies for each subject.

The breast cancer survivors featured in the calendar include author Carol Chatellier, Goshen real estate agent Christina Rowan, Kid’s Clubhouse owner Carol Lahti, healthcare professional Meghan Haarmann, health advocate Mary Andreozzi, Middletown photographer Theresa Dering, artist Klaudia Conrad, DIRT Magazine columnist Lori Marrie, Golden Hill Elementary School library teacher Marlayne Sick, cyclist Kelly Della Rosa, New Jersey grandmother and family matriarch Carolyn Morris, and psychologist Susan Kriegel.

Austin and Mattingly are in talks with local, regional, and national retailers about carrying the Seasons of Hope 2016 Calendar, which is currently available for sale at Ye Olde Book Shoppe in Warwick, e-tailers like Amazon.com, and at www.SeasonsofHopeCalendar.com and is priced at $19.95,

“We want Seasons of Hope to be a win-win-win for our community,” Mattingly said. “In addition to our stated mission for the project, we will also donate a generous portion of the proceeds to an organization that helps families who face a breast cancer diagnosis. Finally, we also want to ‘inspire’ our local economy. Retailers who sell Seasons of Hope will not only know they’re doing something good, but they will also generate profits and give customers a great reason to come into their stores.”
