The Sussex-Wantage Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and the Municipal Alliance Committee (MAC) sponsored musician and songwriter Jared Campbell to perform at the Clifton Lawrence and Wantage Schools on Thursday, Feb. 5, after having previously performed at the Sussex Middle School.

Each show was specifically targeted to the age group consisting of songs that kept them engaged in sing-alongs and reinforced positive character-building messages. Teachers and parents spend a lot of time discussing anti-bullying with their students but when a musician rocks out to the same message, it reaches the students on a different level.

Campbell began his show by talking about how powerful music can be.

Students were rocking to the music during and after the show. According to his website, his primary goal was to encourage the students to walk away feeling “awesome” about themselves and understanding that everyone has value and to appreciate that.
