    John Courter, 19, of Sussex Borough was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and driving while intoxicated after an investigationinto a motor vehicle accident on County Highway 517 and Macpeek Road.

    He was released pending a Venron Township Municipal Court date.

    Jan. 31
    Amanda Conklin, 31, of Vernon was charged with unlawful taking of means of conveyance and possession of a controlled, dangerous substance and additional warrants.

    Police said they responded to a call alleging Conklin had taken her mother's vehicle. Police said Conklin had several warrants for her arrest and the vehicle's license plate was ditributed to additional agencies.

    Police said Conklin was stopped by West Milford police and retried by Vernon police after her arrest. Police said she was in possession of three folds of heroin.

    Conklin was sent to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of bail.

    Ryan Platt, 37, of Highland Lakes was charged with driving while intoxicated and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance after a motor vehicle accident on Canistear Road.

    Police said investigation revealed the vehicle to be a rental car. Police said after the renting company allege Platt to be the driver, police went to his residence, where the arrest was made.

    Platt was released pending a future Vernon Township Municipal Court appearance.

    Feb. 1
    Brian VanDyke, 22, of Highland Lakes was charged with driving while intoxicated and for having multiple open containers of alcohol in a vehicle.

    Police said officers saw a vehicle cross into the southbound lane on Route 94 and then swerve back into the northbound lane. Police said they performed a motor vehicle stop in the Red Tail Lodge parking lot. Police said an investigation alleged VanDyke to be under the influence of alcohol.

    Feb. 2
    Sean P. Kelly, 24, of Warwick, N.Y., was charged with driving while intoxicated, tailgaiting and having unclear plates while traveling south on Route 94 near Mountain Creek.

    Police said they received a report of an erratic driver. The vehicle was located on 94 in the area of Dunkin Donuts.

    He was released to a friend pending a future court appearance.
