Plane makes emergency landing

A small single-engine plane made an emergency landing on State Highway 23 in Milford Thursday afternoon.

The West Milford Police Department reported receiving numerous 911 calls regarding a possible plane crash at about 12:44 p.m, according West Milford Police Department Chief Timothy Storbeck.

Police at the scene reported finding the Cessna 150 single-engine fixed wing airplane with mechanical issues on the highway.

The pilot, Christopher Okechukwu, was able to safely land the plane on the highway without striking any vehicles. There were no injuries.

The plane was removed from the scene by a flatbed truck.
