The Vernon Township Woman's Club recently sent 14 hand-knitted skull caps to Warmth for Warriors, a nonprofit organization that provides knit hats and other comfort items year-round to U.S. soldiers overseas.

Club member Barbara Fimia donated her time and supplies to knit the warm, wool hats for servicemen and women.

The hats are distributed to active duty soldiers and medical units in Afghanistan, as well as VA hospitals in the United States.

Since its inception, Warmth for Warriors has sent more than 38,400 knitted hats to our nation's heroes.
