    William Henry Russell, 78 years old, died peacefully at his home surrounded by family after a short illness on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015. Born to John E. and Iva Russell in Wantage Twp., NJ, he has been a lifelong resident there.

    William served with the United States National Guard and then worked as a foreman at Ames Rubber in Hamburg, N.J., for 39 years before retiring in 1998. He was an active member of the Sussex Christian Reformed Church and was a former assistant scoutmaster and Little League coach. He took great joy in hunting and fishing.

    William was predeceased by 2 brothers, Harold Russell(1999) and Robert "Skip" Russell(1998) and was the beloved husband for 57 years of Isabel Russell(nee Bosma) of Wantage Twp., NJ. Devoted father of Laura Hedderick and her husband, Richard, of Hampton Twp., N.J., William H. Russell, Jr. and his longtime companion, KC Fleming of Wantage Twp., NJ and Steven D. Russell and his wife, Wendy, of Fredon Twp., N.J. Loving grandfather of Bryan Hedderick and his fiance, Lauren Jozwiak, William Hedderick, Kayleigh, Christopher, Matthew and Shane Russell. Dear brother of John Russell of Wantage Twp., N.J., Lillian Conklin of Hamburg, N.J., and brother-in-law of Helen Russell of Wantage Twp., N.J.

    The family will receive their friends at Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, N.J., on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Clove Cemetery, Wantage Twp., N.J.
