Elizabeth Wood Glass

Elizabeth Wood Glass (nee Sinclair), 87 years old, died after a brief illness at St. Anthony's Hospital, Warwick, N.Y., on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015. Born to Alexander and Catherine Sinclair in Glasgow, Scotland, she lived in Ogdensburg, N.J., for 16 years before moving to Vernon Twp., NJ in 1984.

Elizabeth worked as a bookkeeper for A&P Supermarket in Franklin and Sussex Borough, retiring from the Sussex A&P after 24 years in 1993. She served as the treasurer of the XYZ Club of St. Francis de Sales RC Church and was a past member of the Vernon Senior Board and a member of the Vernon Leisure Club.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, William A. Glass (1964), a son, William A. Glass, Jr. (2010) and a brother, Alexander Sinclair (1997) and was the devoted mother of Kathleen O'Dowd and her husband, Frank, of Bethel, CT, Robin Desmond and her husband, Neil, of Kingwood, Texas, Karen Wagner and her husband, Jim, of Warwick, N.Y., David Glass and his girlfriend, Tricia of Hamburg, N.J., and Douglas Glass of Vernon Twp., N.J. Loving grandmother of William Glass and his wife, Dina, Matthew O'Dowd, Sean O'Dowd and his fiancee Megan Lapp, Samantha and Connor Desmond and Jillian Wagner. Cherished great grandmother of Liam.

Memorial Mass will be Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis deSales RC Church, 614 Route 517, Vernon, N.J.
