    Michael Wall, 26, of Sussex, was sentenced to three years of probation with credit for 122 days served.

    He must also undergo random urine monitoring, follow a curfew seven days a week, not associate with anyone in violation of the law and pay $180 in restitution.

    He pleaded guilty on November 6, 2014, to Burglary, a crime of the third degree.

    In May of 2014 the defendant broke into a vehicle that was parked at a Vernon residence taking the victim’s wallet.

    Matthew Giresi, 23, of Andover, was sentenced to two years of probation with a six month loss of his driver’s license. He must also complete drug treatment, testify truthfully against his co-defendant and pay court fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on November 10, 2014, to Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, a crime of the third degree.

    During an investigation of a motor vehicle stop, Byram police found the defendant to be in possession of Heroin, which he had hidden on his person.

    Jason Slater, 30, of Newton, was sentenced to three years of probation on the condition that he serve 180 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility.

    He pleaded guilty on November 10, 2014, to 3rd degree Possession of Heroin, a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

    In September, 2014, the defendant had an active warrant out for his arrest. During the arrest the defendant admitted having heroin on his person to Newton Police. The defendant was found to be in possession of two wax folds.

    Edwin Garcia Mahlon, 29, of Matamoras, Pa., was sentenced to three years of probation with credit for time served of 42 days.

    He must complete DECIDE program or its equivalent and remain compliant with restraining order in place.

    He pleaded guilty on October 27, 2014, to Terroristic Threats, a third degree crime, possession of a weapon, a third degree crime, and Contempt, a disorderly persons offense.

    During a domestic violence incident the defendant threatened to kill the victim with a power drill.

    Charles Conklin, 38, of Long Valley, was sentenced to two years of probation on condition that he serve 20 days SLAP. He must also pay $1,150 restitution to the victim and court fines/fees.

    He pleaded guilty on November 10, 2014, to fourth degree theft.

    In May, 2014, Conklin was paid $1,150 by the Sparta victim to do landscaping.

    He never returned to start any of the work and did not return any of the money to the victim, according to the prosecutor’s office.

    Jan. 12
    Dana J. Villano, 29, of Vernon, New Jersey pleaded guilty to Burglary and Theft, both crimes of the third degree.

    Sentencing is presently scheduled for February 6, 2015.

    In pleading guilty, Villano admitted to entering a residence in Vernon on December 4, 2014 without the owner’s permission and taking property from the residence.

    The matter was investigated by the Vernon Township Police Department.
