Direct from Dublin, Tony Kenny’s Irish Celebration comes to The Newton Theatre on Thursday, March 12 at 8 p.m. for a pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

This Irish Celebration will include a mix of music, song, and dance, starring one of Ireland’s most beloved artists Tony Kenny and Richie Hayes and also featuring Ireland’s best young vocalist Bernadette Ruddy, The Trinity Dublin Band and the champion Dublin City Dancers.

Tony Kenny has sung in countless musical productions such as "Joseph," starred in the world famous Jury’s Irish Cabaret for more than 20 years with the legendary comedian, Hal Roach — Ireland’s King of Blarney, and won many awards for his work over the course of decades. Kenny has entertained millions of people in Ireland, and across the U.S. in dozens of coast to coast tours, including Carnegie Hall.

Richie Hayes has been in the entertainment world from the age of four and has appeared in all aspects of the entertainment industry including Theatre (think Aladdin and Cinderella) and Television (The Voice of Ireland and Celebrity Bainisteior), and finished as a runner-up in The Voice. His debut single, "One Voice," reached number three in iTunes charts, and he subsequently had four top 10 singles in the Irish Charts. His new album, "What About Me," is now on general release. He has toured America and Canada extensively, entertained on many Caribbean Cruises and spent a season in Celtic Storm – The Show, in Dublin.

Bernadette Ruddy, hails from the West of Ireland, and with her rich earthy tones and touching delivery, she is a great Irish female ballad singer.

Added to this mix of Irish artists are the Dublin City Dancers. These dancing athletes have performed in such troupes as Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, Dance of Desire and Battle of the Dance, and traveled the world performing the native dances of Ireland.

The Trinity Dublin Band is one of Ireland’s best folk bands. From busking on O’Connell Street to playing at the National Concert Hall, this group has wowed audiences of all sizes for years. Their musicality keeps toes tapping as they back dancers and singers, and perform Ireland's traditional music.
