February shows scheduled at Sussex County Community College
NEWTON — Sussex County Community College (SCCC) brings international culture and art to Sussex County. The Campus Life Office at SCCC will host two shows in the month of February.
Black Maria Film Festival

Named after the first motion picture studio built by Thomas Edison in 1893, the annual Black Maria Film and Video Festival is known for its cutting-edge film produced by independent video makers. Once again, the globally participated festivals will bring the award-winning video collection to Sussex County Community College (SCCC). All of the videos featured in the tour are an hour or less and fall into many different genres; all videos picked for the tour have been thoughtfully juried by notable artists.
New York Chinese Cultural Center Performance

An acrobatic display and dance performances from New York Chinese Cultural Center introduce guests to Chinese culture through language lessons, historical background, on-stage demonstrations and audience interaction. The diversity of dance selections, costumes, music, props, and narration illustrates and explains traits, customs, and patterns of Chinese life.
