The Vernon Township School District will hold an open house on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the Walnut Ridge Primary School all-purpose room.

The district's preschool program uses Tools of the Mind, a state Department of Education-approved developmentally appropriate curriculum, for children with and without disabilities. This curriculum infuses theme-based teaching that is aligned with Common Core State Standards.

Preschool is offered five days a week during a morning or afternoon session. Vernon residents may enroll children who will turn 3 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2015. Children must be fully toilet trained to start the program.

Children will be placed in the morning and afternoon sections based on first-come, first-served. If the number of registrations exceeds the number of openings, a waiting list will be developed. There will be a preschool Open House on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 9:30 am and 7:00 in the Walnut Ridge Primary School all-purpose room.
