Forty-two members of the Vernon Township High School Choir and Orchestra, under the direction of Kevin Boehm and Jennifer Krott, traveled to Orlando, Fla., from Dec. 29, 2014 to Jan. 2, 2015.

Choral students participated in a workshop with a professional Disney vocalist, where they worked on adding choreography to music in order to enhance their performance technique. The students also worked on music from Beauty and the Beast.

Orchestra students worked with a professional string bassist from Disney Performing Arts. They spent the first half of their workshop working on sight-reading skills and the second half rehearsing music from Aladdin. Both groups participated in a recording session and used their music as a soundtrack to the corresponding Disney film.

In addition, VTHS choir students sung in a mass choir, comprised of both Disney and student musicians in Walt Disney World's Candlelight Processional.

Steven Curtis Chapman narrated as the students performed fifteen memorized carols during two evening performances. Orchestra students performed a concert on the waterside stage in Downtown Disney in front of a packed audience.
