    Michael Ruggerio, 56, of Warwick, N.Y., was charged with two counts of theft, two counts of theft of a credit card and one count of forgery after police investigated several reported incidents of wallets being removed for lockers at Minerals Resort Fitness Spa.

    On Dec. 12, the victim stated that the wallet was removed from the locker and that the perpetrator made several purchase with his dredit card in New York state.

    The following day, The Vernon Police Dept. received another complaint with similar circumstances. In the case, the perpetrator again removed a wallet from a locker, and used the victim’s credit card to make purchases, this time in Vernon and New York state.

    On Dec. 17, The Vernon Police Dept. obtained video surveillance footage of the perpetrator using the victim’s stolen credit card to purchase a carton of cigarettes at the Lukoil Station on Rt. 94. Police asid the perpetrator was identified by Minerals Resort staff as Ruggiero, a frequent member of the Minerals Resort Spa. That same day, the suspect was contacted, and agreed to come to the Vernon PD for questioning. He was then placed under arrest, and charged as a result.

    Police said further investigation revealed that Mr. Ruggiero is also a suspect for credit card fraud in Warwick.

    He also was charged and released on several summonses.

    Dec. 27
    Jaewoo Masters, 24, of Sparta was charged with driving while intoxicated, speeding and driving while unlicensed.

    Police said Masters was observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and after a short investigation, police said Masters was found to be intoxicated.

    Masters was released to a family member pending a Municipal Court date.
