    Christopher Caufield, 28, of Sussex, was sentenced to one year in NJ State Prison, with credit for 213 days served and pay standard fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on July 7, 2014, to defrauding a drug test, a third degree crime.

    He admitted to attempting to avoid giving a true drug test to this probation officer on May 6, 2014 in Newton.

    Joshua Scheuermann, 31 of Vernon, was sentenced to two years of probation and pay standard fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on October 6, 2014, to Distribution of Heroin, a third degree crime.

    Scheuermann admitted that on November 27, 2013 in the Township of Vernon he distributed heroin.

    Jeffrey Lang, 26 of Hopatcong, was sentenced to 647 days with credit for time served, and must pay restitution and standard fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on October 6, 2014, to two counts of being an Accomplice to Burglary, both third degree crimes.

    On February 15, 2014 in the Township of Montague, Lang admitted to driving three individuals to two residences knowing that the individuals were going to break into the houses and steal property in excess of $500.00

    Joshua D. Wharton, 29, of Milford, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to three years in New Jersey state prison to run concurrent to a prison term he is currently serving in New York.

    He was ordered to have no contact with the victim in this matter, must pay total fines and penalties of $155.00 and submit a DNA sample at his expense.

    He pleaded guilty on November 10, 2014 to the third degree crime of burglary. In pleading guilty, Wharton admitted to burglarizing a structure on New Mashipacong Road in Montague belonging to Joseph Zitone on April 12, 2014.

    Herbert W. Whitesell, 33, of Newton, New Jersey, was sentenced to three years in New

    Jersey state prison.
    He was ordered to pay total fines and penalties of $1,330 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. His driving privileges were suspended for six months.

    He pleaded guilty on October 27, 2014 to distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, a third degree crime, resisting arrest, a crime of the fourth degree, and to a violation of probation.

    In pleading guilty, Whitesell admitted to selling heroin to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Unit on August 11, 2014 in Newton. He was serving a probationary term at the time of the incident.
