VERNON — Last Sunday morning was a chance to have a hearty breakfast with Santa Claus and have your photo taken with jolly old Father Christmas at the McAfee Firehouse.
Celebrity patrons included Vernon Mayor Victor Marotta and retired Vernon Township Police Department Chief Roy Wherry.
According to McAfee firefighter Bud Braitsch, it was a record-breaking year for the annual fundraising effort of the Ladies Auxiliary, with some 175 people stopping in for a meal and perhaps a candy cane with Santa.
