Two Vernon lake communities share holiday spirit

From the far northeastern and southeastern corners of Vernon, the lake communities of Barry Lakes and Cliffwood Lake pooled their resources once again to enjoy breakfast and the holiday spirit together in the Barry Lakes Clubhouse.

This was the second year that with the help of Jeff Hansen of the Cliffwood Lake on the Stockholm border helped Santa Claus find his way up Canistear Road last Saturday.

Santa made the rounds from table to table in the packed Barry Lakes clubhouse.

About 150 people from both lake communities enjoyed pancakes, gingerbread pancakes, bacon, sausage links and patties, fresh fruit, and the like.

Barry Lakes recreation direction Mary Ferreri supervised the volunteer kitchen squad as Santa made the rounds from table to table in the packed clubhouse.
