Louis V. Stigler

    Louis V. Stigler, 67, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Morristown Medical Center. Mr. Stigler, son of the late Frank E. and Josephine M. (Alfieri) Stigler, was born in Englewood August 6, 1947. He resided in Passaic before moving to the Highland Lakes section of Vernon 44 years ago.

    Mr. Stigler was a service technician for Sear Roebuck & Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1991 and was also in the U.S. Air Force. He was an animal lover and liked to rescue needy animals. Mr. Stigler was an avid N.Y. Yankee and N.Y. Jets fan and was formerly an active bowler with the Warwick Bowling Lanes.

    Mr. Stigler was predeceased by a brother, John Stigler and is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Laura (Delaney) Stigler; devoted sons, Louis V. Stigler Jr. of Highland Lakes, Wesley E. Stigler of Wantage and Jason E. Stigler of Hertfordshire, England; loving brother, Frank Stigler of Vernon; cherished granddaughters, Valentina, Delaney, Maria and Breanna as well as many nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94 (1 Vanderhoof Ct. for GPS) Vernon. Interment followed at Glenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Friends called at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Following the burial on Monday, the family welcomed friends and relatives to join them for a repast at Wallkill Valley VFW Post #8441 313 Rt. 94 Vernon at noon.
